amazing insight and biblically sound

this is an amazing book for all singles, and even marrieds because mary gives valuable truth and insight into how we all relate to one another. the mistakes she discusses are all correct, I think, and she offers her own candid, open and insightful look at how we are to respond to these mistakes and carry on in our lives in a joyful, contented way as Christ would enable us, if we allow him to do His work in our lives. I found it very encouraging, and insightful and also very personal because I feel like I can relate to Mary, or better yet, that she can relate to me, as she writes the book in a very honest way. Her writing is very touching and it will spur you on to give thanks to God for all he has done and will do in your life-- and to continue trusting God, even when it is difficult. It is a wonderful book that I recommend highly.

Amazingly simple, and Tremendously Honest

I have been aware of Mary Whelchel's ministry for more than 20 years. She and I are actually very good friends. We are part of the same local church, The Moody Church, here in Chicago. She addresses issues that far too many pastors (and others) are afraid to bring up, for fear of "offending someone." Mary takes the chance, and succeeds at transparency, honesty, and integrity.

Each of the twelve chapters spoke deeply to my experience as a single man, a Christian believer, and an adult. This book is tremendous. I would HIGHLY recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Obsolete -- too general to be useful...

This book was written about 8 years ago, at the height of the "embrace your singleness, it's God's gift to you" era. The writer, who has a grown daughter who is married, has no idea about the challenges facing young, marriage-minded, single Christian women today. Her observations and suggestions, (such as not appearing too eager) are so general that they are likely to insult the average reader. She frowns on those who dare to talk about the shortage of men in their church communities, as if you're just supposed to turn a blind eye to these issues rather than work to do something about them. Fortunately, there have been better books that have come out over the past few years that tackle these issues head on, such as Getting Serious about Getting Married: Rethinking the Gift of Singleness, by Debbie Maken, and Get Married: What Women Can Do To Help it Happen, by Candice Watters. Don't bother wasting your money on this one.

Faith Story

Dave and Amy and Nathan and Eric chronicle their exceptional story, as was told real time on their Caring Bridge site over the last two years. At the time of the original publication, the writing nurtured an entire community into discussion about issues of faith, hope, love and grace. The Eitrheim family has now provided an ongoing gift, teaching others how they might live, as this earthly life comes to an end.

The book provides study questions between essays that make it a great resource for personal reflection or small group study. These questions are similar to those that were naturally elicited in people when they read the story as it unfolded.

A must-read for all of us who will some day walk or run the same path, not into darkness, but into light.

A wonderful book for all

Insightful, inspiring, humbling, genuine and thought-provoking stories written by one of the most intelligent and giving people I've had the pleasure to know. Growing up with Dave as a member of my family, it was easy to see how much my parents respected his friendship, expertise, and kind heart. I soon grew to understand what awesome people he and Amy are, and how lucky I was to have them as an aunt and uncle. Their book has wonderful life lessons on facing enormous challenges with grace and how we can truly live life to the fullest. Rest in peace, Uncle Dave.

This is a very inspirational book. Reading it has me thinking of all the things that I have been lucky enough to have in my life and what I should be doing to make life better for those around me. I wish I had met Dave.

Gritty and Hard-boiled for sure

These were two of the grittiest murder mysteries I've read in a long time. I had read Causey's other Armchair Fiction double, "Killer Take All," which was outstanding. So I looked forward to his "Baby Doll Murders" and it did not disappoint. The second novel, "Death Hitches a Ride" was really taut. Both stories had kind of a sleazy edge to them, but that helped, not hindered. I could almost smell the cigarette smoke.

Kerry Brown is Professor of HRM in the School of Management at Curtin University in Perth, Australia. Kerry’s principal research areas are change management, collaboration, networks and clusters, capability, strategy, management and policy for infrastructure and asset management, work-life balance, gender and careers in the public sector, public sector management and policy, and government-community relations and employment relations. Kerry has co-authored two books, co-edited four books, and published over 50 articles in scholarly journals.

JENNIFER WATERHOUSE is Senior Lecturer in the School of Business at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Jennifer teaches in the area of employment relations, with a particular focus on diversity in the workplace and on negotiations. This research has extended to broad areas of consideration, including the wine industry in the Hunter Valley as well as networks established to address homelessness in regional Queensland.

ROBYN KEAST is Associate Professor in the School of Management at Queensland University of Technology, Australia, and is the Research Director for the Airport Metropolis Project. No Complicated Maths Here

I highly recommend this material. It helped me found my footing early in my career as a process engineer! I have invested quite a bit in Norman Lieberman material and they are full of anecdote (owing to extensive years he has spent in the industry) that you can relate with as a process engineer. Even though I like complicated math, I found the simplicity of the mathematics in the materials helps to focus on logic of the problem solving process rather than just crunching equations.

A thorough must read for stock footage artists who like the details

I am quite familiar with the stock footage world. Jeff is clearly a guy who focuses on specific details, which is helpful to someone starting out in stock footage. This book will give you a good lay of the land to get started. I still learned from reading Jeff's book. He has good knowledge of lighting, and the 4k an drone sections are well done. He provides camera recommendations for the 4k camera. Shutterstock millionaire author also recommended the Camera Panasonic DMC-GH4. I like how Jeff focuses on the safety aspect of flying drones, which as someone who started flying a DJI phantom for aerial footage knows this is the most important aspect.

I discovered a new research tool from chapter 5 that will determined the chances of making a sale before shooting. I'm excited to give this a try. I'll also try to do more rack focus shots and try to focus on connecting on an emotional level as Jeff suggested. I agree getting your first sales is exciting and addicting. Highly recommended!

As a stock photographer who hopes to expand my meager video portfolio, this book has been very inspiring and informative. I have some knowledge of the stock video business, but found many tips and thorough explanations that could take me to the next level. I especially appreciated the details on color space, compression, and codecs which made the confusing more clear. Advice on workflow and keywording was also extremely valuable. All in all, this book provides a great overview of how the stock footage video business works, from creating footage to processing to selling clips through stock agencies. I highly recommend this book for anyone seeking to sell video online. The author obviously knows his stuff, and is good at passing the knowledge on!

Normally when I read a book about making money online, I find that either the opportunity is hyped or it is lacking in detail.
That is certainly not the case with this book as Jeffrey clearly knows what he is doing and imparts his considerable knowledge here.
